spica cast

Too bad I didn’t think of organizing all of the posts on the broken leg adventure as I went along. This page will be evolving, but I’m going to list some highlighted days that may help other parents who are going through the same thing.

However…if you don’t mind following me to another blog, I finally got the bright idea to save all my posts that were specific to spica casts in one nice and neat blog - http://spicacast.wordpress.com . If this is your first time visiting here and you are searching specifically about broken legs and spica casts, I would encourage to go over there where it’s a lot more organized.

I’ve added in links to some of the highlights of our 8 week journey in case you’re just looking for something specific. Or you might also click on the word “spica cast” under the tags section to your right and that will take you to all related posts as well.

    1. Wow, you are so good at documenting this and I couldn’t figure out how to reply to your comment so I’m writing a note here, hope you receive it!

Your son was walking so good at one week! Did the doctor say it is “normal” to still have his foot turned out at this point? Did you ever get the physical therapy referral?

Well of course I’m a little concerned now, because Nolan isn’t even standing yet (2 weeks and 4 days today), although we’ve been hesitant to encourage it since he had his cast on for less than 5 weeks. We didn’t discourage him either but he seems very reluctant to use it. We finally are now encouraging him to stand, and he’s almost putting his entire weight on it now. Doctor said 2-3 weeks before he’d be walking.

Anyway, I’ll have to check out the other blogs listed above, it’s been so hectic with our move back that I haven’t had much time to post or read or anything!

      Ciao!

    2. I just have to comment. I just spent some time looking for your blog - I remember bumping into it a few months ago (did it look different, then? or was I still out of it) and feeling a kinship of sorts that we were going thru the same thing at about the same time with almost the same age kids. It helped.

I was looking for you again today, because I remembered that you had shared some other links - I didn’t know that you had compiled all of these posts together - and I have to laugh now, because I just spent this morning doing the exact same thing. :) I’m going to link you now, and between the two of us, the next guy is going to be just that much better informed, don’t you think? :)

For some reason, I’m not able to past into your website box…not sure why…but here is the page I created this morning. Okay - I can’t link it in here either. I’ll let you do that part.

      be good and stay well!

    3. By the way - I’m the Live from Tormville. :)

I added a link on my left side bar that will take you to our Spica Cast page
