Here I was, deciding whether or not to blog about the wreck this afternoon where I came perilously close to being a victim instead of just an eyewitness this afternoon (others weren’t as fortunate).
When along came Holden’s comment. Which could be viewed as risque if you really put your mind to it. Which is a good thing because I needed a laugh this evening and that hit the spot. The question is….did my heart rate spike during the evening, whether due to REM or my “husband being a bother” (which is what made me laugh!).
The low that night that showed 47 also showed a high of 81 with the average being 59 throughout the night. So yes, there was a small spike but nothing too exciting. Read between the lines what you will with regard to that particular night; this is a family friendly blog.Â
I was being a bit of a smart aleck earlier today when Jon emailed around a list of possible names for our TIR team and estimated 5k times. I told Jon to put my 5k time down as 30 seconds faster than whatever Holden put down for himself. I know, I’m bad. Instead of competing with Bill’s team, I’m competing internally with Holden. As if I could really keep up with him (sadly, we all know the truth is I can’t).
I didn’t say Holden was competing with me. He doesn’t need to. I think I’m jealous of the whole Vic contest and just dreamed this up as a way to stay on top of the blog reading.
It’s 9pm; my husband just ate, my 3-year old is torturing the poor puppy and my 9-year old is playing webkinz. And I’m a witness to a wreck instead of in the hospital tonight - or worse. Life is good. It’s kind of funny now but as I play back this afternoon’s events I keep hearing my brakes shrieking to stop and I can hear myself screaming at the top of my lungs “thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus” a hundred times over when I realized I had not been hit head-on.
What. A. Day.

I thought your email was funny. I was driving when I read it (a dangerous and stupid thing to be doing) so I wasn’t able to write a comment back.) Then I forgot about it until now.
I’m glad you survived the near miss. That would have put a seious crimp on your work out schedule. It also puts life into proper perspective.
Thank goodness you were a witness! I can only say that “Thank you Jesus” is probably not what would have been coming out of my mouth.
I have a terrible “accent” when it comes to things like that… thank goodness Weds and Sat affords confession times! LOL I think we need to come up with a good name for our team… What are your ideas?? Mine were beyond lame. Hmmm… beyond lame… would that work??!! LOL
Wow, I am so glad that you did not get hit! Very scary, but certainly makes you appreciate life a bit more.
Last time I was in a wreck, I was shaking for days afterward. It is such a scary experience.
